The day I received a message of being
admitted into the University of Ilorin is
definitely one of the most happiest day of
my life, the day my life changes to the
best?? or worst?? U DECIDE.
I’m Habeeb by the way, close friends do
call me Hay B. I’m a Muslim (My name
obviously points that out) and I come from
the west, Osun to be precise.
I graduated from Sec school in 2009 and I
went through a lot during my admission
seeking years which really braced me up for
what’s to come. I was pretty young when I
finished secondary school (aged just 16),
and I was so naive and very reserved,
extremely inquisitive if may add.
It all started when I was admitted into the
School of Preliminary studies, University of
Ilorin, it’s a pre degree program but we do
refer to it as “REMEDIAL”. Rems was fun
and I wasn’t ready to be left out of the
unlimited fun experience.
The remedial program center is situated in
a town known as Fufu (not pronounced as
the popular Yoruba so
swallow food). It’s a very small town with a
population of people not more than 500
residents. The remedial program holds for
just 5 months/year and during this period
80% of people u see around are students.
I resumed a week earlier than most and
started my registration very early. My first
day of registration, I was queuing in the hot
sun to get my caution fee bank draft signed
when someone suddenly tapped me from
behind, I looked back to see who it was and
I got the shock of my life…….. To be continued
