Former governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu has said that the leader of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is at this moment in London, United Kingdom.
Orji Kalu who is also a businessman and prominent politician made the revelation in a no holds barred interview with Punch Newspaper, adding that Kanu was not taken away by the Nigeria’s military as claimed in some quarters.
Kalu said the IPOB leader went to Malaysia where he travelled to London United Kingdom on his own, affirming that he was never arrested by anybody.
He said, “Kanu was not taken away by the military. Kanu went to Malaysia from where he travelled to the United Kingdom. Nnamdi Kanu is in London right now as we speak. He was not arrested by anybody. He left the country on his own.
Continuing he added that he has spoken to one of Kanu’s relations who confirmed his whereabouts to him. He said, “One of his relations has spoken to me and explained everything because I wanted to see him and talk to him wherever he was and see how I could meet some Federal Government officials on his issue. I also wanted to see ways of talking to the President about him, and find common ground but his family told me that he has left the country, unless they are lying to me.
The prominent politician also added that there is no foreign government that is supporting the activities of the oputlawed IPOB. “I have consulted all the intelligence agencies in Germany, France, US, UK, China and I have discovered that there is no foreign government that is supporting Biafra. If foreign governments are supporting them, you would have seen the change in their approach and strategies. They are just using that as propaganda to deceive people. It is a lie, Orji Kalu added.
